WHAT DO THE GRADES MEAN ?

As per Overstreet standards : -

nm - near mint: virtually perfect, only the subtlest amount of wear noticeable

vf - very fine: slight wear only, perhaps light stress or a very small light crease here or there.

fn - fine: shows some wear, but still a nice bright copy.

vgf - very good to fine: about average or slightly better with wear, creases etc, but still sound.

vg - very good: an average well read copy showing age, creases, splits etc, but solid.

gvg - good to very good: worn/creased, below average, often with splits, pen marks etc, only ‘gap fillers’ or reading copies.

gd - good: badly creased/worn, tatty but complete.

fa - fair: very tatty, possibly with tape, marks,tears,chunks out etc., not a nice copy.

poor - very tatty indeed, with all kinds of faults

MVS - the 70s nightmare - Marvel Value stamp clipped from an otherwise solid book.

nbc - no back cover

DO YOU DISTINGUISH BETWEEN CENTS AND PENCE PRICES ?

The vast majority of our stock is imported directly from the U.S. and so most issues are unstamped cents copies. However, a * symbol after the price denotes that an issue is either pence priced or has a pence stamp (usually T & P).

HOW ABOUT THOSE COVER IMAGES ?

Small cover repros are for reference purposes only and are copyright their respective publishers. Where there are multiple grades available, please don't ask for a separate scan for each grade - with over 60,000 books in stock, we're only human - more or less. Where available, larger more detailed images are of the actual books as described.

WHO ON EARTH IS GENERIC MAN ?

Generic Man is one of those characters you just never seem to be able to get rid of. He keeps popping up where you least expect him. Please report sightings of him, and perhaps one day we'll be able to rid the site of this peculiar little fellow altogether. However, if you want a copy of the highly rare and sought after issue # 1, then we can source a NM copy, probably CGC 9.6 or above for a mere £23,000.
